The current plan is to provide direct alignment support in PDL3
rather than hacking away for every platform possibility. This issue
also ties in with the general problems of memory mapped IO and
other ways PDL data could be allocated.

As usual, thanks for the checks, Rob. How did you manage the
FFTW3 library install for PDL::FFTW3 to build (pkg-config or hand
tweak?).
